Angel Suarez-Rosado

Angel Suarez-Rosado, a native of Puerto Rico, maintains his studio in Saylorsburg, Pennsylvania. He began his studies at the University of Puerto Rico in Rio Piedras, and continued at S.U.N.Y. Buffalo. He earned his B.F.A. from the School of Visual Arts in 1982 and received his M.F.A. from the same school in 1985. He has been active in creating art in relation to social issues. His work has been widely exhibited. His professional affiliations include the Cooper-Hewitt Museum, New York; Museum of Anthropology, History and Art at the University of Puerto Rico; Puerto Rican Institute of Culture and Fundacion Antropologica; Arqueologica e Historica de San Juan. Angel has received a scholarship from the Institute of Puerto Rico in New York as well as the Rhodes Memorial Award to the School of Visual Arts in 1985.
