The mammograms were negative

and the doctors assured me there was nothing to worry

about. However, the quarter-sized lump in my right breast

turned out to be cancer.

My breast and right arm took quite a beating after the

lumpectomy, lymphadenectomy, surgery, radiation and

radioactive implants.

Over time my breast has again become fairly

symmetrical. Now the solid mass on the outer side of my

breast and the occasional ache and swelling in my

arm remind me how precious each day is.
